Fernando Alonso of Renault has completed his attempt at a back-to-back world championship. He won it again this year against Michael Schumacher - arguably the best driver of all time; Ferrari - who has improved a lot in the 2nd half of the season; and the FIA - who always seem to have rulings in favor of the Ferrari team.

MotoGP

Nicky Hayden has finally got his own MotoGP championship crown and stopped Velentino Rossi from being the only champion rider of the 990cc era. But the american has won it on consistency rather than speed. Bottom line is ... at the end of the season, the guy with the most points wins and he's done it.

WRC

Sebastian Loeb has won the WRC even in his absence as his rival has failed to sweep the remaining races. He was out for 2 races because of a mountain bike accident. He did it against the factory Ford Focus of Marcus Gronholm.
