250CC - Dani Pedrosa Wins
It was an exciting 250 Class battle. The top 5 not letting each other run away. In the end, it was a wheel to wheel battle
between Local boy Randy De Puniet and current champ Dani Pedrosa. Dani Pedrosa finally snatched the lead in the
last few laps. He was expected to make a runaway that time but De Puniet was up for the challenge.
De Puniet grabbed the lead in the penultimate lap. The crowd was on their feet cheering for their home hero as
Pedrosa hounds to regain the top spot and the championship lead. In the middle of the last lap, Pedrosa
almost took back the lead but De Puniet defended the place almost touching Pedrosa's front wheel. But in the last 3
corners, De Puniet made a mistake and ran a little bit wide. Pedrosa made the move and made it stick. Pedrosa wins
and the crowd was silenced.
MOTO GP
In the MotoGP, Colin Edwards was the early leader. Rossi, after a bad start from pole were running 6th with
Sete behind him. Rossi immediately mad his way back up and was soon hounding the leader and team mate Edwards.
Sete meanwhile was stuck behind Nakano. When he made the move on Nakano, he wasn't able to make it stick.
Melandri made a move dropping Sete a place further. At this point, Sete didn't look like a contender for the win.
But just as I thought of that, he has set a series of blistering pace breaking the circuit record lap after lap.
In the front meanwhile, Edwards was not letting Rossi pass as he wants the win as well. With Edwards holding off
Rossi, Sete was able to make a lot of ground up and was soon behind Rossi. Rossi made a move on Edwards but
ran wide on the next corner. Edwards took back the lead bringing along Sete to second place. A few laps later,
it was Sete's turn to move but again failed. Rossi took back second place from Sete. Rossi takes the lead from
Edwards and Sete took the opportunity to pass as well. Edwards shook his head as the two riders passed. He
knows that the two rivals are flying and he has just lost his opportunity to win. Sete hounded Rossi in the
remaining laps. But in the end, the world champion retained his lead by riding faultlessly and not giving
Sete a chance to make his move.
In my opinion, Rossi will retain his world title this year. The Rossi's Yamaha and Sete's Honda seem evenly matched
in ability. But Rossi's ability will keep him on top. All Sete can do this year is to keep the Italian
on his feet and not let him cruise to victories.
