McLaren Mercedes has finally put together something that will hold 'til the end of the race. As a result, Kimi Raikonnen crushed the competition with stunning lap speed during the first stint breaking the record lap after lap. He led from start to finish for his first victory of the season and a clear signal that team silver has launched their challenge for the crown.

Fernando Alonso meanwhile had a silent run to take second place. The spanish crowd would have been much much happier had he won or at least challenged for the win. But he was nowhere near the finnish driver during the weekend.

Toyota and Jarno Trulli are once again on the podium. That was even after his Toyota burst into flames as he was leaving the from a pit stop. Looks like they're keen to keep a top three finish in the constructors championship at the end of the season. Ralph Schumacher looks faster than Jarno this weekend. But after being jumped for position during the pitstops by Jarno, Ralph wasn't able to take the place back. Exciting battle between the two Toyota's though towards the end of the race.

After a stunning display of speed during the last race, there Ferrari's looked mediocre at the start of the weekend. And when Michael Schumacher was finally climbing up and challenge the front runners, it's time for the tyres to go. A double flat tyre for the champ means that he has to retire from the race.
