Makoto has done it again!

Makoto Tamada has stepped up the top podium again. He has done it in his home country, riding a honda, rolling on bridgestone rubber. It's tripple japanese on the top podium.

Sete Gibernau qualified a dismal 14th and finished 6th at a time when he desperately needed a win. Valentino Rossi meanwhile extended his lead on the rider championship race. He led the pacific grand prix in the early stages of the race. But Makoto kept up with the reigning world champion, eventually passing him and finishing with a wide margin.
